Global Risk Institute Keynote: Large Language Models & Beyond

Nov 20, 2023

I had the privilege of delivering a keynote speech for the Global Risk Institute yesterday, discussing the risks associated with large language models like ChatGPT and the potential emergence of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). I also presented a risk management framework that organizations can employ to mitigate these risks.

I was delighted to learn about the EDGE principles, developed by GRI in collaboration with OSFI, directly from Alexey Rubtsov. He eloquently guided us through the fundamental principles of AI and shared best practices in good AI governance.

One of the main highlights of the day was a well-coordinated panel comprising a lawyer Carole Piovesan, a regulator Romana Mizdrak and a high-ranking government official Ima Okonny. Together, they emphasized the importance of responsible AI, inclusive AI development, and systematic data governance to the audience members. The panel’s success was significantly enhanced by the expert moderation by Rani Turna, FCPA, FCA.

I would like to express my gratitude to the hashtag#globalriskinstitute for organizing such a fantastic day filled with valuable insights and inspiration.
